David Bowie, Diamond Dogs, 1974
David Bowie, Diamond Dogs, 1974
PHOTOGRAPHER: TERRY O’NEILL
David Bowie sits cooly, his steely gaze levelled at the camera, in a mesh- and metallic- accented jumpsuit and platform leather boots. Beside him, a large white dog lunges at the camera, teeth bared, its raw power felt in its movement. Bowie had an ability to make the exaggerated feel authentic; this striking publicity shot taken in 1974 for Diamond Dogs is a graphic representation of the force of Bowie’s persona.
