Titled in reference to the recent covid-19 pandemic issued lockdowns, the portrayal of these flowers evokesthemes of loneliness, stillness, and patience. This dark and gloomy flower arrangement appears reminiscent of Dutch Golden age still life paintings in which flowers often symbolised the transience of time and mortality. The falling petals mark the passage of time and provoke us to reflect on our time when life feels still.
