Helena Christensen, Marrakech 1993
Helena Christensen, Marrakech 1993
PHOTOGRAPHER: JACQUES OLIVAR
I quite went often to shoot in Marrakech. The thousand- and one-night tales made reality! Helen Abelen was the painter Peter Abelen’s wife and she used to dress very boyish and often in white pants, black tie, and Catalans shoes. So, this was the inspiration for the story with Helena Christensen and Mako Yamazaki in Marrakesh. I love the colonial style elegance of those beautiful houses you may find there. Such magic and such a privilege travelling and working with the mind blowing, fascinating, 5 star model, and wonderful woman which is Helena. It is difficult to describe the dream that is working with the Moroccan team in Marrakech, especially on location scouting when facing the magic snowed Atlas under a clean transparent blue sky. We stopped to have lunch on the thousand and one indescribable little road’s restaurant! My God, impossible to talk about this perfect feeling of oriental dreamy freedom and happiness!
