Gia on a Pew

Gia on a Pew

$12,000.00

PHOTOGRAPHER: ROBERT FARBER

Robert Farber’s advertisement of Gia Carangi for Bloomingdale’s in 1979 provides a glimpse to another, more dreamlike side of the model who has been considered one of the first super models. Here, we find her barefoot and leaning against the side of a church pew. In a long white dress, she appears to be longing for something just beyond her reach.

Farber was interested in capturing a different side of her, a less sexy, softer and more feminine side. He felt that the cathedral at Fordham University was the perfect location to draw this out.
